Gullane Athletic AFC will be holding a football festival on Saturday 11th August.

On Saturday 21st May Gullane Athletic U14 played Currie Star Colts in the final of the Charles Kilvin Cup having beaten Eyemouth United, Edinburgh United and Craigroyston BC along the way. In the first half the Gullane players saw their nerves get the better of them and they didn't play anywhere near the level that that they had in the last few weeks. At half time the score was Currie Star Colts 2 - 0 Gullane Athletic. The players raised it a level in the second half and had numerous chances including a controversially disallowed goal.  They finally put one in after a well worked period of play.  The final score was Currie Star Colts 3 - 1 Gullane Athletic.  

The Gullane 2008 team are playing Musselburgh Windsor this Sunday at home.  Speaking to Sky Sports, Mike Spink the Gullane Coach commented that "Musselburgh are a strong side and we hope to see as many people as possible down to get behind the team. It promises to be a close one."

Football training for all kids born in 2010, 2011 and 2012 starts up again on Sunday 20th August down at the Memorial Ground next to the primary school.  Any girls or boys who fancy giving it a try are welcome to come along this Sunday to practice their skills and play a few four-a-side matches. We'll be playing on the grass, and trainers are fine at this time of the year.   There is no charge for the first few weeks whilst the kids discover the game and work out if football is for them.  All levels of skill very welcome.

As a Club we are so proud that the festival was a huge success.  It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying playing and watching football in our village.  The main aim of the day was to raise funds for Team Poppy, and we are pleased to let everyone know that the total is currently over £12,000. The festival has kicked off and the skies have cleared. Lots of quality football from the kids this morning with the adult tournament starting at 12:30.   Ice creams, bar, BBQ throughout the afternoon.  Hopefully see you down to enjoy the great atmosphere and legendary football. 

A huge day tomorrow for Gullane Athletic with a large number of local clubs visiting the village for the Team Poppy fundraising tournament.  Fixtures in the morning are as follows: 09:00 - 2008/09 Age Group 10:00 - 2007 Age Group 10:00 - 2010 Age Group ( Primary School Playing Field) 11:00 - 2006 Age Group Teas, coffees and bacon rolls from 9am.  Good luck to all the kids playing. The festival starts at 9am on Saturday with food and drink throughout the day. Everyone from the village is welcome to come down to Memorial Park next to Gullane Primary School to watch the football. In the morning there are kids games at the Primary School and on Memorial Park. Bacon and sausage rolls, and tea and coffee will be available in the morning. 9-10am 8-9 year olds 10-11am 6-7 year olds (Primary School) 10-11am 9-10 year olds 11-12am 11-12 year olds The adult tournament 5-a-side kicks off at 12:00 and the Beer and Prosecco tent and BBQ will open shortly afterwards.  There are 18 teams from the surrounding area taking part and the final will be played just after 4pm.  See you there!
