Derby Delight – 2004 Match Report 4th October 2014

The final match before the October school break saw the 2004 team up against near neighbours NB Colts.

Despite horrendous conditions with heavy rain and cool breeze the pitch at Gullane stood up well as did the players. The excellent passing that was evident over the past couple of weeks was again a feature of the game. We are fortunate to have a larger squad now but that brings its own problems i.e. not being able to play all the squad. The 10 that did play shared the goals amongst themselves with Archie scoring a thunderbolt with the coach demanding he pass the ball ( coach wrong again!)

Cole showed an excellent touch playing up front with Jamie and Robbie combining well on the right to deliver crosses into the box. Angus made only his 2nd appearance and scored on his home debut after some excellent passing between Ella and Shona.  With Jack J and Finn making great tackles and breaking down the opponent’s attacks and Ali continuing to improve in goals  it all bodes well for the final few weeks of the season.

Next Match Away v Musselburgh YS 25th October 2014 (KO TBC)
