2003 Match Report – Sat 21st March: The Magnificent 7

The Gullane Athletic 2003’s were on their travels again this week for the short trip to Port Seton. The Gullane geese were down to the bare bones with players not available but the magnificent 7 left every drop of effort on the pitch.  The first half was a tight affair with Jasmine and Archie shutting up shop at the back and playing some nice football out of defence. Port Seton took the lead after Calumn brilliantly clawed away a long range effort only for the Seton player to put in the rebound. Gullane then struck back  with Myles coolly slotting home after a fine move.

Gullane started the 2nd half sluggishly and Port Seton quickly took the lead and then extended it with another goal to make it 3-1. Gullane then went up a gear with Daniel at the centre of everything putting in an impressive shift. Gullane got back into the game with Shay twisting and turning in the box and then slotting it in the bottom comer. Gullane then got back on to level terms when Dylan and Myles combined for the best move of the match with Myles burying the ball in the net for his brace. The final whistle went and ended an entertaining game.
