2004 Match Report – Sat 25th April

Our 1st match after the Easter break was away to our close neighbours NB Colts. The weather was in stark contrast to the past few days with rain and a cool breeze making it more like the Scotland we know and love.  With our usual goalie missing, Finn stepped up to help and soon had us all scratching our heads as to how he has managed to keep his goalkeeping prowess so well hidden.  The game started well with both teams playing well with a good standard of skillful football on show. The Gullane defence was breached but Robbie soon levelled and an Angus thunderbolt (??!!) put the team ahead: still not sure if the ball hit the net once it crossed the line.  To be honest it was a well deserved goal as Angus had had more strikes that the French farmers !! With Izzy commanding at the back aided by Jamie the team were passing the ball well and making numerous goal scoring chances from Ella on the right and Cole up front. As the match wore on Gullane seemed to step up a gear and further goals including a hat trick by Archie saw the team post a win against a very good NB colts team. I hope that those parents who were there saw just how well their sons/daughters did today and give them the feedback they deserve.
