New Challenge for Gullane Athetic AFC

The next step in the clubs development gets under way this coming Sunday (14th Aug) as Gullane Athletic U13’s start their 11 a side league campaign in the South East Region Youth FA’s Lothian Buses Division 2 Section A with a “home” match v Peebles FC. The club has now been going for 9 years and slowly building the membership year on year with c. 85 young boys and girls from age 5 playing small sided developmental football games. Now the U13’s start playing competitive matches and it’s the 1st team in over 20 years to represent the village as Gullane Athletic AFC. A team that in the past has played Saturday Amatuer football and even gone on to compete in national finals.  The current committee are committed to continue the clubs development and look to the establish a community football club for the future boys girls and perhaps adults in the village. Unfortunately due to delays in obtaining funding to complete the build of the proposed clubhouse at the Astro next to the primary school the team will in the short term likely be playing “home” matches at Aberlady. It is understood by the football club that the build of the clubhouse is scheduled to be completed early 2017.  In the meantime it would be wonderful if the U13’s are given as much support in the game on Sunday. Kick off 11am at the Aberlady football pitch next to the primary school.  We shall try post the fixtures on the web page each week though they are available on the SERYFA web site at http://www.seryfa-online.info/age-group/u13s/u13s-fixtures-and-results.
